The Guest Book is expired.
Robert (Bob) was born in Montague on Dec. 25, 1933 to James and Mildred Campbell. He would have been 80 on Christmas Day. Bob grew up in Greenfield, attending Holy Trinity School and Greenfield High School. In 1953, he enlisted in the Air Force and in 1954, he married June Mesic at St. Mary's Church in Turners Falls, MA. During his enlistment they lived in Texas, Georgia and Alaska.
After his discharge, they returned to Greenfield where Bob and his brother Jim worked for their father at the Campbell Company, doing welding, sheet metal fabrication and auto radiator repair. In 1976, Bob, June and five children moved to Tucson where his oldest son Tim was living. He worked for awhile at the University of Arizona, then managed a couple of businesses and bought and developed some income properties. In semi-retirement he and June managed retirement communities.
In addition to his expert metal fabrication, Bob was a skilled woodworker, crafting magnificent wood furniture. He was a devout Catholic and a daily communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Tucson. His beloved wife, June, died in 2007. Bob is predeceased by his parents and his brother Jim.
He is survived by his son, Tim; his son, Tom and wife Cindy; his daughter, Teri Fullick, and his son, Chris, all living in Tucson. His son, Bill, live in Randolph, MA, with wife Cindy, and his son, Pete, lives in Dallas, TX.
He is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Rogalski, Mary Lou Moore and Betty Ann Roy of Greenfield, MA, and a brother, Paul Campbell of Turners Falls, MA. Fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren will carry on his legacy. We who survive him are sorry for our loss and will miss him greatly. At the same time we are greatly comforted that he will be reunited with his beloved wife in the eternal joy of heaven.
A funeral Mass took place on Oct. 31, 2013 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tucson, AZ, the church where his son, Tom, is an ordained Deacon.
Interment will take place at the convenience of his family. Condolences can be addressed to the family at Comanche Wells, 775 W. Roger Road, Tucson, AZ 85705.
