Angela V. Fydenkevez, 74, of Bridge Road in Northampton passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, following a short illness.
She was born in Northampton on April 21, 1939 to Joseph and Victoria (Gesiorek) Osip. She was married to John E. Fydenkevez Sr. at St. John Cantius Church in Northampton.
She worked for many years for the Springfield Republican Newspaper and for 30 years delivered newspapers for the Daily Hampshire Gazette.
She and her family enjoyed farming and raised livestock and produce. They began their Farm Stand in 1975 and Angela especially enjoyed socializing with her regular customers, who frequently stopped to visit with her.
She was a member of the Polish Heritage Committee and enjoyed her involvement with their dinners and events. She worked at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish bingo and she loved to listen to Polish music. She especially enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events and was their biggest fan.
Angela was predeceased by her husband John in 1994.
She leaves her son, John and his wife Donna and her daughter, Angela; her grandchildren, Craig and his wife Roberta, Paul and his wife Kelly, and her great-grandchildren whom she adored: Makayla, Payton and Evan. She also leaves her brother, Joseph Osip and his wife Patricia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday morning from the Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton at 9 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 99 King St., Northampton. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley.
