GREENFIELD - Bertram M. Phillips, 72, of Cypress Street, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
He was born on May 31, 1939 in Greenfield, the son of Mervin and Rebecca (LaPoint) Phillips. Bert graduated from Greenfield High School, the Class of 1957. He then went on to serve his country during the Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army.
Bert was a lifetime resident of Greenfield.
He was an Audio-Visual Technician for the Amherst Regional School District for almost 30 years.
He was an Amateur Radio Operator and also a member of the Amherst Railroad Society.
Bert leaves two good friends: Bruce Vought of Newberry, S.C., and Fred Smead of Hadley.
Services will be private.
