Candace B. Bath, 60, of Berthoud, Colo., passed on Thursday, April 10, 2014.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born in Montague, Mass., March 23, 1954, she was the daughter of Russell L. Burnett Jr. and Jane (Salter) Burnett. She attended Frontier Regional High School, Greenfield Community College and completed a degree in business at Metro State in Denver, Colo.
After moving to Boulder, Colo., in 1978, she was employed at Novack-Deene Architects followed by the Economics Institute of Boulder, then with Horizon Organic Dairy, Deen Foods and White Wave foods serving in a variety of operational management functions.
Meeting her husband Joe in Boulder, they were married in February 1981 and had lived in Boulder, Louisville and lastly in Berthoud.
Candae, "Can" to some of us, has always had a love of nature, animals, cooking, gardening, reading and volunteering. Her most favorite times were spent among friends, animals and especially in the many hot spring locations across the west. She and Joe enjoyed many outings to the hot pools where she could out-soak anybody.
Her gardens and landscaping were enviable and a great source of pride. Candae grew many of her own ingredients. She was known for her famous peach and apricot chutney, often given as gifts along with many other treats. As her mother before her, she made some extraordinary pies.
Candae had a special place in her spirit for all the animals in the world. She would often rescue the smallest of creatures. Her greatest treasures were her cats, all of whom were rescues. They were her children and spirit partners throughout her life. She volunteered on her days off to the "Tiny Toes," (rats, rabbits, guinea pigs and gerbils). Candae certainly touched the lives of everyone she met.
She is predeceased by her mother, Jane (2011), her father, Russell (2014).
Survived by her husband, Joe; her cats, Lydia and Henry; her sister, Cheryl Faufaw of Shelburne Falls; nieces, Kristie Faufaw (Mike Sisum) of Hawley and Debra Collazo (Mike) of Springfield, Mass; brother-in-law, Bill (Barbara Ann) Bath of St. Charles, MO, and nieces Ashley (Adam) Boldt, also of MO., and Rebekah (Matt) Ruegg of Kansas.
