SHELBURNE FALLS - Catherine I. "Kay" (Caron) Clark, 88, of Bridge St., died Saturday, May 10, 2014 with her family by her side, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.
Born in Conway, MA on January 10, 1926, she was one of the thirteen children of D. Alfred and Eugenie (Michaud) Caron. Kay was a graduate of the Conway Grammar school and Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, class of 1943.
On May 26, 1951, Kay was married to Raymond L. Clark. In just a couple weeks they would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary.
Kay was employed as a Customer Service Representative for the former Shelburne Falls National Bank, which later became a branch of the Bank of Boston. She retired in 1988 after 30 years of service. She enjoyed assisting her neighbors and meeting new friends while at the bank.
In her retirement, Kay enjoyed bowling, reading, traveling, walking and any time she could be with her grandchildren.
Kay was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Shelburne Falls for many years.
Survivors beside husband Raymond include a son, Gene Clark and his wife Christine of Greenfield, a grandson Aaron Clark and his wife Meghan of Somerville, MA, a granddaughter Nicole Clark and her boyfriend Brandon Ovitt of Winchester, NH, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Kay was predeceased by seven sisters; Marie Jeanne Caron, Margaret Ball, Florence Benoni, Madeleine March, Bertha Graves, Yvonne Cash and Jacqueline Zon, five brothers; Alfred, Fernand, Edgar, Luis and infant Joseph Caron.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. Friends are invited to meet directly at the church at 10. Committal prayers will follow in Howland Cemetery, Conway.
