MONTAGUE - Celia "Ceal" (Peters) Allen, 83, widow of Lt. Col. (Ret. USAF) Edwin "Sonny" Allen, died on Monday (11-4-13) as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Greenfield, she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Caldwell) Peters.

After 20 years as an Air Force wife, she was a real estate agent, antiques dealer, business manager for Guiding Star Grange and Eucharistic minister at Blessed Sacrament Church.
She was an avid bingo and lottery player, prize-winning baker and artist. The Red Sox World Series win at home was one of the thrills of her life, and she followed Tiger Woods' career with great interest. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ceal leaves behind her son, John Allen (Saralynn) of Northfield; two daughters: Sharon Dahlstrom of Greenfield and Susan Allen of Oregon; grandsons: Jeffrey Dahlstrom of Greenfield and Timothy Allen (Amie) of Northfield, and great-grandsons, Sean and Everett Allen of Northfield. She also leaves her sister, Virginia Crowley of Bennington, VT; sister-in-law, Hazel Howe of Greenfield, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Peters Dudley, and brother, Frank "Skeeter" Scheuer.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday (11-12-13) at 9 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, with the Rev. Timothy Campoli, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Green River Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held the previous evening (Monday 11-11-13) from 6 to 8 at Walker Funeral Home, 14 High St., Greenfield.
