Clint Turley Eaton, 47, of Pittsfield, MA, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Granby, CT, on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013.
Clint was born in Roswell, New Mexico, July 3, 1966.
Clint is survived by his sister, Lisa Jo Eaton of Holland, MA, and his brother, Brent Eaton of Greenfield, MA.
Clint was a devoted father to his children, one son, Nathen Boutwell Eaton, 20 years old, who is following in his father's footsteps in Aviation and attending CT Aero Tech in Hartford, CT; two daughters, Vanessa Lyn Eaton, 18 years old, currently living in Doylestown, PA, attending her first year at Bucks Community College. She is aspiring to be an Osteopathic Doctor. Amber Marie Eaton, 16 years old, currently a junior at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School studying Automotive. Clint is also survived by his fiancée, Christina Canty of Pittsfield, MA. Also survived is Clint's once wife and mother to their three children, Lisa L. Boutwell of Barkhamsted, CT., many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, a niece, godchildren, lifelong friends from grammar school and a large aviation family.
Clint's parents, Robert and Nan Eaton predeceased him.
Clint graduated in 1984 from Franklin County Technical School in Turners Falls, MA, with a certificate in automotive maintenance and then from East Coast Aero Technical School in 1986, earning his Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
Clint spent his entire career in the field of aviation, most recently working for Gulfstream Aerospace in Westfield, MA. Prior to that Clint was employed by Pfizer Aviation in NJ. Clint began his career and spent most of it at Canadair / Bombardier in Windsor Locks, CT, where he held many roles including Technician, Lead, Supervisor, QA, and Customer Support Field Service Representative, where he serviced many customers and made lots of lifelong friends. Throughout his career, Clint earned many FAA awards including a Diamond award in 1997. He was a member of the Westchester Aircraft Maintenance Association and served as an ad-hoc board member from 1996-2009.
As his children were growing up, Clint was involved in all of the sports they played and he taught Learn to Skate to many kids who are now great hockey players, including his own. He held roles of Treasurer, Registrar and President of the Kent Youth Hockey League from 2000-2008 and held a great passion for ice hockey even playing on a men's open hockey team himself.
Clint loved antique cars and motorcycles and would tinker with anything mechanical that was in need of repair. Clint grew up on motorcycles and was an experienced rider, riding all types of bikes for most of his life. He bought his first Harley-Davidson in 2012 and expressed to many, "I finally get it." He loved taking long rides on his bike and attending car and air shows.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 24th. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wrisley Funeral Home in South Deerfield, MA. A reception will follow at the Pope John Paul Center in South Deerfield.
Clint gave in death as he gave in life. Clint was an organ and tissue donor.
