SHELBURNE FALLS - David G. King, 44, of Kratt Avenue, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.
Dave was born in Montague, MA, on Dec. 15, 1968, the son of Dennis and Alice (Wallitis) King. He was a graduate of Franklin County Technical School.
Dave was an original founding member of the local band ""Catamount."" For the past 20 years, people have followed the band and attended the shows, no matter the location. While band members may have changed through the years, one constant has been Dave. He was proud of the band and loved to play lead guitar and lead vocals.
Although his greatest love was to play music, Dave also enjoyed being outdoors camping and fishing, cooking, and he was great with both kids and animals.
Survivors include his father, Dennis of Colrain; a son, Jade King of South Deerfield; two brothers, Sean King and his wife Robin of Halifax, VT, and Dan King and his wife Lisa of Bernardston; sister, Amy Lanoue and her husband David of Ashfield; two nieces, two nephews, a grandniece and grandnephew, many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
His mother, Alice, predeceased him in 2001.
A graveside service will take place Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at West Branch Cemetery in Colrain.
There are no calling hours.
