SOUTH DEERFIELD - Edward Louis Laczynski, 82, of 173 North Main Street, South Deerfield, died Monday night, July 8, 2013, at home after a period of failing health.

Ed was born in Montague, May 2, 1931, the son of Walter E. and Veronica(Petrowicz) Laczynski.
He was educated in Deerfield schools and graduated from the former Deerfield High School, Class of 1950.
He later married Elizabeth Sklepowicz, October 6, 1951, in St. Stanislaus Church by Rev. John Langow. All their married life was spent in Deerfield. In early years he worked at Pro-Brush and later became proprietor of Deerfield Greenhouses, retiring in 2005.
Edward was past president of the Deerfield Lions Club and a former member of Pro-Brush Golf Club. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in South Deerfield.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth ""Betty"" Laczynski of South Deerfield; two sons,
David Laczynski and his wife Victoria of Deerfield, and Edward Laczynski, Jr., and his wife Michelle, of Greenfield. One daughter, Deborah Ambo and her husband John, of Greenfield. Five grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A brother Walter pre-deceased him.
At Edward's request, there will be no formal funeral service or calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, Mass. 01507 or to Franklin County Meals on Wheels, Montague City Road, Turners Falls, Mass. 01376.
