COLRAIN - Francis Robert Crosier, 89, of Adamsville Road, died Friday, April 25, 2014, at home after a long illness.

Born Oct. 16, 1924, he was the son of Robin Edwin and Cora (Davenport) Crosier. He lived his entire life in Colrain, first on the family farm on Stetson Brothers Road and later on Adamsville Road.
Together with his brother David, he operated a cattle trucking business in the local area. Francis continued the business until he was well into his 80's. He was also instrumental in the formation in what is now known as the Northampton Co-Op Auction Association, Inc.
He never married, but did like to dance; in his younger years, he could be found on Saturday nights at local dances.
He is survived by one brother, Douglas Crosier of Connecticut, and several nieces and nephews.
Francis was predeceased by brothers, Melvin, Ralph and David Crosier, and sister, Hazel.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, April 29, at West Branch Cemetery at 2 p.m. The Rev. Robert Szafran, pastor of the Colrain Community Church, will officiate.
