GREENFIELD – Grace (Kelleher) Antone, 88, of High Street, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility.
Grace was born in Sunderland on July 26, 1924, the daughter of Timothy and
Grace (Patterson) Kelleher. She was a graduate of Deerfield High School, the
College of New Rochelle (NY) and graduate studies at Boston University.
On July 2, 1949, Grace was married to Charles E. Antone and they were together
for 61 years until Charles death on Jan. 7, 2011.
Grace was a teacher for the Deerfield schools many years ago and later became
the secretary for Holy Trinity School in Greenfield. While at Holy Trinity,
Grace had many job titles, but she modestly referred to herself as secretary.
Grace was a former member of the Jr. SPCC, the Board of Organized Work at
Franklin Medical Center, as well as an overseer at Franklin Medical Center.
She was a longtime communicant of Holy Trinity Parish and taught Religious
Education classes for many years.
Grace is survived by two sons, James of Deerfield and Paul and his wife Kate
of Rockwood, TN; two daughters, Mary Mitchel and her husband Ira of Greenfield and Jean Murphy and her husband Peter of Gill; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Antone, Chad Antone, Elizabeth Boudreau, Alexander Mitchel, Samuel Murphy and Daniel Murphy; three great-grandchildren, Madison Boudreau, Jacob Antone and Blake Antone; a brother, James Kelleher of Dublin, OH; a sister, Marion Halpy of Holyoke, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, John, Edward, Timothy and
Leonard Kelleher, and a sister, Elizabeth Dorsey.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St., with the Rev. Msgr. Ronald Yargeau, pastor, as celebrant. Committal prayers will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral
