BERNARDSTON - Grace Irene (Carr) Tyler, 84, died on Friday (3-28-14) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.

Grace was born February 9, 1930, daughter of Ray and Iva (Batchelder) Carr in South Walden, Vermont. She attended schools in South Walden, East Hardwick and Derby, VT. Grace was a member of the South Walden Methodist Church and very active in the 4-H Club. She worked in several homes doing housework and helping to care for small children.
Grace married Roland Tyler on April 28, 1953, and was a homemaker as well as helping her husband in his business. She liked to cook, sew and do crafts. Grace loved working outside in her flower beds and doing lawn work. She also enjoyed writing letters and cards.
Grace leaves two sons: David and his wife Linda of Greenfield and Bruce and his wife Robin of Wichita, KS; her daughter Jean Noes and her husband Terry of Feeding Hills; four grandchildren: Joshua, Amanda, Nathan and Rachel Tyler and her great-grandson Jayden Tyler. She also leaves two brothers: Rodney Carr and his wife Jean and Erwin Carr and his wife Joanne, her sister Ida Stone and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Roland, sister Lenna and brother Leon.
Funeral services for Grace will be on Wednesday (4-2-14) at 2 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 14 High Street, Greenfield, with Pastor Job Hicks of the Bible Baptist Church in West Springfield officiating.
There will be an hour of visitation preceding the service, beginning at 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Bernardston in the spring.
