BERNARDSTON - James H. Sinclair, 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield on July 29, 2012.
Jim was born on June 2, 1942 in Athol to the late Clairesse (Hause) Sinclair and the late Howard Sinclair.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was an avid "Boston" sports fan. Jim enjoyed going to the movies, dining, family gatherings and especially spending time with his two granddaughters, Mikaylah and Jennessa.
After graduation from Athol High School in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for four years.
He was employed at LaPierre's in Greenfield as a salesman. Jim was currently employed at the Yankee Candle Company, as a candle maker for the last 14 years.
He leaves his loving wife, Phyllis (Hmieleski) Sinclair, whom he married on Sept. 27, 1974; a son, Travis J. Sinclair of Greenfield; two daughters, Kerri-Anne Sinclair and her partner Argenis Fuentes of Greenfield and Kelley Sinclair of Bernardston; two granddaughters, Mikaylah and Jennessa Fuentes of Greenfield; two brothers, Paul Sinclair and his wife Laura of Pasadena, MD, and Gary Sinclair of Westminster; a stepmother, Lois Sinclair of Brattleboro, VT; a stepbrother, Ronald Taylor and his wife Ruth Ann of Tyngsboro, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Bernardston Fire and Police Departments, the Baystate Ambulance and the ER department at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, also, the ER and ICU departments and the on-call priest at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. A very special thanks to Dr. John McCann and the staff of the Baystate Franklin Oncology Department.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (8-3) at 9:15 a.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square in Turners Falls, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh St., Turners Falls. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center Oncology Department, 164 High St., Greenfield, MA 01301, in memory of James Sinclair.
