BERNARDSTON - Janice L. Gray, 80, of Fox Hill Road, died Saturday afternoon (10-27-12) at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Brattleboro, Vt., on May 26, 1932, the daughter of Ernest and Louise (Hale) LaPlante.
Janice lived the first 12 years of life in West Brattleboro, Vt., attending the West Brattleboro Academy for the first six grades. She graduated from Powers Institute, Bernardston, in 1950.
She was married to Clarence Gray in 1952. Mr. Gray predeceased her in 2003, after 51 years of marriage.
In the late 60s, she helped her husband start his own business, serving as a bookkeeper and gofor.
She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Brattleboro Ladies Oriental Shrine.
Janice is survived by two sons: Dan and his wife Terry of Northfield and Edwin and his partner Carla Senn of Bernardston; two daughters: Cheryl Gott and her husband John of La Crusis, NM, and Sandra Girard and her husband Allen of Bernardston. She is also survived by a brother, Ernest LaPlante Jr. of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, David.
Funeral services will be Wednesday (10-31-12) at 3 p.m. at the Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield. The Rev. Dr. Christine Fontaine will officiate.
Janice loved Halloween. Anyone who desires may come in costume to this celebration of her life. Burial will be at a later date.
