GREENFIELD - Judith A. (Gove) Bohannon, 66, of Wells Street, died Tuesday (10-29-13) at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born in Mansfield, MA, on Dec. 11, 1946, the daughter of William E. and Virginia L. (Currier) Gove, Jr. She attended local schools in Mansfield.
Judy was a Certified Nursing Assistant for nearly 50 years. She worked at the Franklin Medical Center and various area nursing homes. For the last eight years she was employed by Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility. She retired earlier this year.
Judy was a kind and compassionate person. She was dedicated to caring for and preserving the dignity of her patients. In her spare time, she loved crafts, especially crocheting items for her family. Judy was an avid reader, who enjoyed spending time at the Greenfield Public Library.
Among her survivors, Judy leaves two daughters, Ann M. Spring and her husband Christopher and Erin L. Bohannon, both of Greenfield; a son, Andrew D. Bohannon, II of Florence; three grandchildren, Laurana M. Bohannon, Anthony M. Bohannon and Sabriel L. Spring; three brothers, Roger E. Gove of Foxboro, MA, Armand R. Gove and Charles P. Gove, and a sister, Bertha M. Gove.
Judy was predeceased by her companion, James ""Duke"" Arlin, in 1993.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday (11-20-13) at 7 p.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St., Greenfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
