TURNERS FALLS - Karen Ann Damon, 51, of Sunrise Terrace in Turners Falls, passed away peacefully and quietly on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Charlene Manor Ext. Care in Greenfield, after losing her fight with a Brain Tumor. She left her life with her family here on earth and went to be with her Baba, Jadgie and Cioci Pat in Heaven.
Karen was born in Northampton on Nov. 14, 1962, and was raised in Hatfield, attending schools there. She was the much loved daughter of Karle and Joanie (Mihalak) Kushi of Turners Falls and Don Damon of Easthampton. Although she had many challenges in her life, she was known for her hearty laugh, her smiles and her funny and quirky sense of humor.
Karen loved listening to her Rock music, dancing, watching old westerns with her stepfather, being with her mom who was her best friend and staying with Sadie, her best dog friend.
Besides her parents, Karen leaves her brother, Jeffrey Damon and his wife Jessica of Easthampton; her sister, Sherri Crowe and her husband Bob of Easthampton; her brother, Tim Damon of Raleigh, N.C. She also leaves nieces and nephews, Erica and Nick Damon of Florence and Bobby and Amanda Crowe of Easthampton; her grandniece, Haleigh Crowe; her much loved uncle, Jimmy Mihalak of Florence, and many cousins.
There are no calling hours.
A funeral service with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley will be private.
The Czelusniak Funeral Home of Northampton has been entrusted with arrangements.
