COLRAIN - Kathryn M. (Streeter) Patterson, 100, a native of Colrain, formerly of Main Road and previously a resident of the Weldon House Apartments, Greenfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the Buckley HealthCare Center, Greenfield, following a period of declining health.

Kathryn was born on Nov. 18, 1912 a daughter to Albert J. and Josephine (LaPlante) Streeter in Colrain, where she attended local public schools and graduated from former Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls in the Class of 1929.
She resided in the Town of Colrain for 96 years, until moving to the Weldon House Apartments in Greenfield, in 2009. While a resident of the Weldon House, Kathryn enjoyed "holding court" on "the couch" with several of her fellow female residents, where they wiled away many an afternoon in conversation.
On the occasion of her 100th birthday on Nov. 18, 2012, she was feted by some 90 relatives and friends who joined her to help celebrate this momentous event.
She was employed by the former Kendall Mills Corp. in Colrain for 45 years, later for Clark Corvair Parts for an additional 10 years, prior to her retirement at the age of 78 in 1990.
Kathryn enjoyed crocheting, home cooking and in particular baking, as she had a "sweet tooth" and was particularly fond of donuts! She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and braiding rugs.
She was a member of the Mohawk Catamount Campers Association, the Kendall Mills "Old Timer's Association" and served as a former trustee of the Griswold Memorial Library in Colrain.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Patterson; her son, Paul Patterson, and by her siblings: Madeline (Streeter) Gray and Foster, Harold and Ralph Streeter. She leaves several nieces and nephews who remember her with great love and affection including: Cynthia and Hormidas Lively of Greenfield; Dennis and Marilyn Gray of Barre, VT; Norman and Sally Streeter of Carson, NV; Richard and Marjorie Streeter of Exeter, NH, and Arlene and Bob Thorndike of Shelburne Falls, MA, who were her caregivers. Additionally Kathryn is lovingly remembered by several grandnieces and grandnephews, in addition to several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and two great-great-grandnephews and one great-great-grandniece and by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Patterson of Greenfield.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be observed in celebration of Kathryn's life and many gifts, at St. Joseph's Parish, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls, MA, on SATURDAY, FEB. 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Tony Cullen, pastor, as the principal celebrant, assisted by Rev. Fr. John Roach (former pastor of St. Joseph's Parish) as con-celebrant. Rites of committal and inurnment will follow in West Branch Cemetery, Colrain, with burial to take place in the Patterson lot. A reception will be announced at the conclusion of the committal services.
In keeping with Kathryn's wishes, visiting hours will be omitted.
