HANOVER, N.H. - Marguerite N. Stacy died on February 28, 2014 at her home in Hanover, N.H.

She was born in Vernon, Vt. on June 15, 1925 the daughter of John and Hazel (Thomas) Scherlin.
Her family immigrated from Klockrike Parrish in Ostergotland Sweden arriving in Ellis Island in 1912. Marguerite was the post World War II bride of Marine Corporal Gilbert Stacy. The Stacy's were married 52 years until his death in 1998. They lived the early years of their marriage in Denver, CO and Sacramento, CA; later residing in Northfield and Deerfield, Massachusetts. She was a librarian at Northfield Mount Hermon School and Deerfield Academy where her husband was Director of Physical Plant.
She was a Youth Group Leader at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, Northfield, MA and a Girl Scout Leader at the "Little House" in Northfield. In 2006 she moved to New Hampshire to live closer to her daughter. She made many new friends in her Quail Hollow neighborhood.
She leaves two daughters: Marcia Kemp of Attleboro, MA and Laura Barrett of Hanover, NH. three grandchildren: Jeffery Kemp of Hinsdale, NH, Brent Barrett of Hanover, NH, Gretchen "Molly" Barrett Sutton of Port Ewen, NY; five great-grandchildren, Scott, Megan and Jacob Kemp, Emma Barrett and Ryan Sutton. She also leaves her sister Helen Scherlin Dickinson of Wilbraham, MA.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in Tyler Cemetery, Vernon, VT.
