NORTHFIELD - Stephen J. Gorzocoski, 87, of East St., Northfield, Ma., died Friday evening (2-15-2013) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield, Ma.

He was born in Northfield, Ma., on April 28, 1925 the son of Paul and Julia (Chudz) Gorzocoski.
He was educated in Northfield Schools. He along with his brothers continued operation of the family farm, the Gorzocoski Brothers Farm in Northfield until his retirement in the early 1990s. He was the local coordinator for the Greenfield Elders visually impaired support group, planning many events for many years. He was a devout member of St. Patrick's Church in Northfield his entire life. He studied avidly current events in the world through audio communications. He enjoyed traveling especially bus trips and cruises. He loved gardening and maintained a garden until very recently.
He is survived by his brother: Paul Jr. and his wife Eileen of Northfield, Ma., and his sister Olga Ford of Springfield, Ma. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Helen Gorzocoski of Northfield, Ma., and nieces and nephews: Anne Gorzocoski of Northfield, Ma., Paul Gorzocoski III of Northfield, Ma., Julia Miller and her husband Donald of Guilford, Vt., David Gorzocoski and his wife Dianna of Northfield, Ma., and Joy Gorzocoski and her husband Dennis Hudson of Wendell, Ma.
He was predeceased by a brother Stanley.
Funeral Services will be Thursday (2-21-2013) at 10:15 a.m. from the Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield, Ma., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Main St., Northfield, Ma., at 11 a.m. The Rev Thomas Lisowski, Pastor, will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Northfield, Ma.
Calling hours will be Wednesday (2-20-2013) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
