GREENFIELD - Renate Wolff Goepp, 92, of Greenfield, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center. She succumbed to a massive stroke.
She was born March 16, 1920 in Berlin, Germany, and emigrated as a refugee from the Nazi regime in October 2938. She graduated with a B.A. from Goucher College, an M.Ed. from Smith College and M.A., Ph.D, from Bryn Mawr College.
In her lifetime she was both a teacher and an author, and published five books.
She was married to Philip H. Goepp, II, of Philadelphia, who predeceased her in 1987.
She is survived by their son, Julius Goepp and his fiance, Philip's daughter and son, Susan Goepp Kryger and Philip H. Goepp, III, and his wife, Michelle Cherrier; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held.
