Ruth Nancy (Fitzgerald) Dimick, 80, of 130 Colrain Road, Greenfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.

She was born in Greenfield, Oct. 25, 1932, the daughter of Enot and Louise (Wells) Fitzgerald.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by the former Kendall Co. in Griswoldville. Following her retirement from Kendall, she was employed by the former Anchorage Nursing Home in Shelburne, where she enjoyed working with the elderly.
Ruth attended both the Colrain Community Church and the Heath Union Church.
She enjoyed walking, vegetable and flower gardening, and traveling. She liked "leaf peeping" in the fall. In earlier years, she enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
Her husband, George H. Dimick, predeceased her on June 21, 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel H. Brooks of Heath, James E. Brooks of Buckland and Richard L. Brooks of Springfield; two daughters, Debbie L. Bousquet of North Carolina and Linda Fitzgerald of Maine; one sister, Mary Bellors of Charlemont, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls. Burial will be in Leavitt Cemetery in Charlemont.
