Sybil R. (Smith) Moore (1922 - 2014)

Greenfield - Sybil R. (Smith) Moore, 91, formerly of Vernon St., went to be with the Lord on Friday January 24, 2014.
Sybil was born on May 25, 1922 in Dothian, Alabama one of six children of Arthur S. and Vanney (Bass) Smith. Sybil's birth was difficult and as a result, took the life of her mother and twin sibling. She was adopted and raised by her uncle Columbus W. Smith and aunt Carrie Smith in Graceville, Florida. She graduated from Rehoboth High School.
On June 24, 1946 Sybil was married to Robert J. Moore. Robert was enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and stationed in the South were he met Sybil. After their marriage, they moved to Greenfield. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. Robert passed away on January 3, 2002.
Sybil was a homemaker and caretaker for all who entered her home. She made sure visitors were comfortable and well fed. She enjoyed sitting out on the porch swing and seeing the neighbors as they walked by. Sybil was a lover of animals, she fed and watched the birds as they visited her yard and her beloved cat "Tommie."
Sybil was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would tell you all about them whenever she had a chance.
She also enjoyed listening to music and her flower garden.
Survivors include her daughter Roberta  "Robbie" Browning  and her husband Kendall  "Ken" of Greenfield, four grandchildren; Cynthia Smith, Michael Browning, Jennifer Younglove, and Laura Briggs, twelve great-grandchildren; Joshua, Amber, Amanda, Rebecca, Caleb, Daniel, Jordyn, Kathrine, Landon,Silas, Morgan and Patrick,Rebeka; brother-in-law Robert Wheeler of Millers Falls, sister-in-law Beryl Moore of Gill;grandsons-in-law; Harold Smith, Brandan Briggs and Peter Younglove, and a granddaughter-in-law, Cyndi Browning; her cat Tommie, and several nieces and nephews.
Sybil was predeceased by her three sisters and two brothers and by her six adopted brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will take place in the spring in Riverside Cemetery, Gill.
