WALLINGFORD, Conn. - H. Virginia ""Ginny"" Carlisle Stenard passed away peacefully in the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014.
She was born in Gill, MA, the daughter of William and Ruth Mary (Grant) Carlisle, attended schools in Turners Falls and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School and the former Bridgewater State Teachers College.
She served as a Red Cross Nurse's Aide Volunteer in excess of 500 hours at Westover Air Base, Wesson Memorial Hospital and Wesson Maternity Hospital, and taught school in Charlemont, Boston and Springfield, MA. She also worked in a munitions factory in Springfield during WWII.
She leaves her former husband, Paul D. Stenard of Wallingford, CT; her beloved daughters, Pamela Ossorio and husband Daniel of Prospect, CT, Deborah Stenard and husband Paul Bowman of Los Angeles, CA, and Gaye Stenard and husband George Biry of Oxford, England. She also leaves the light of her life, grandson, Matthew Biry of Oxford, England. She also leaves four brothers, Robert of Plymouth, Walter of Turners Falls, William of Venice, FL, and Edward of Bernardston, and her beloved Carlisle nieces and nephews and their children.
She was predeceased by sisters, Wilhelmina Carlisle, Josephine Carlisle Bastarache and Phyllis Carlisle Dix.
She was so loved and will be missed and remembered.
