Hadley - Carolyn G. (Bresciano) Majewski, 86, of Hadley passed away Friday 2/21/14 after a long illness surrounded by her family.
She was born in Greenfield on October 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (DeMeo) Bresciano.
Carolyn attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1945. She became a resident of Hadley in 1950, when she married her husband Michael J. Majewski Sr. who predeceased her in 2013.
Carolyn was employed by the Hadley Zayre's Department Store until it closed. She then worked at Stop and Shop for 15 years until her retirement. After her retirement, Carolyn continued to work part time at KidsSports until 2002. She greatly enjoyed the social interaction with her customers.
She was a communicant of the Most Holy Redeemer Church in Hadley.
Among her survivors, Carolyn leaves two sons, Michael Jr. and his companion Sharon Canfield of Hadley, both of whom were instrumental in her attentive care; Peter and his wife Chris of Belchertown; two daughters, Mary Ann Brawn and her husband Gordon of Pelham, NH, and Jeanne Wehry and her husband Patrick of Hatfield. Nana will also be missed by her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Carolyn also leaves her sister, Josephine Bonnette of Wilmington, DE, and her brother Nicholas of Montague, and many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Konvelski of Turners Falls, Palma Smith of Greenfield, and Rose Hayes of Holyoke and by two brothers, Stephen Bresciano of Greenfield and Vincent Bresciano of New Jersey.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 2/26/14 at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St., Greenfield with the Monsignor Ronald G. Yargeau officiating.
Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Greenfield in the spring.
There will be no calling hours.
