TURNERS FALLS - Mildred L. (Sears) Bastarache, 88, of Bulkley Street, died Saturday (2-22-14) at the Wingate of West Springfield.

She was born in Montague on July 12, 1925, the daughter of Levi and Anna (Bourbeau) Sears. She attended Turners Falls High School.
Millie was a homemaker.
She was an accomplished seamstress. Besides sewing, she enjoyed decorating, collecting and restoring antiques, gardening, reading, playing card games, and most of all spending time with her family.
Among her survivors, Millie leaves a son, Joseph A. Jr. and his wife Anne of Turners Falls; a daughter, Patricia J. Culleny and her husband James of Shelburne Falls; 15 grandchildren: Julie Bastarache, Karen Bastarache, Andrea Carr, Lisa Bastarache, Michelle Price, Elizabeth Bastarache, Jennifer Waldron, Mauria Sirum, Jaime Deery, Jessica McQuillen, Jessica Thayer, Leah Culleny, Jodi Dodge, Scott Bastarache and Kim Raffa; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Millie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Bastarache Sr., in 1999; a son, Gary D. Bastarache in 2001; a daughter, Pamela J. Deery in 2010, and all of her siblings: Wilfred Sears, Lilian (Sears) Bourbeau, William Sears, Ruth (Sears) Dubois, Emma (Sears) Jillson, Robert Sears and June (Sears) Lewandowski.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
