HINSDALE, N.H. - William J. "Bill" Buraczynski, Jr., 69, of Church Street, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 5, 2014, at Brattleboro (Vt.) Memorial Hospital.
Bill was born in Hinsdale on July 25, 1944, the son of William and Stephanie (Sytnik) Buraczynski. He was raised and educated in Hinsdale, graduating from Hinsdale High School, Class of 1962.
He had been employed as a tap and die engineer at Greenfield (Mass.) Tap & Die and previously worked for the Bendix Company, also in Greenfield. He retired from his vocation following over 30 years in the trade.
More recently, he worked on a part-time basis as a delivery driver for Advance Auto Parts in Brattleboro.
Bill was a charter member of the Warwick (Mass.) Lions Club and also held membership in the Hinsdale VFW, Post #4234.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hinsdale.
Bill enjoyed nature, walking, gardening and time shared with his family.
On Jan. 2, 1971, at St. Joseph's Church, he married the former Darlene Smart. Even though their marriage ended in divorce, they remained very close friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Amanda Sweetser and husband Paul of Hinsdale, Michele Barnett and husband Ross of Halifax and Kristina Aldrich and husband Aaron of Brattleboro; two sisters, Stephanie Chase of Manchester, N.H., and Kathleen Saunders of Brattleboro. Additionally, he leaves four grandchildren, Travis, Ryan, Avery and Aurora, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A reception will follow the services to be held at the VFW Post #1034 on Black Mountain Road in Brattleboro.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7 to 9.
