BUCKLAND - Norma Jean (Berthiaume) Sall, 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 22, 2014.
Norma was born on April 21, 1937 in Greenfield, MA, to Raymond and Gladys (Woodard) Berthiaume. She grew up in Bernardston and graduated from Powers Institute.
Norma was married to Frederick W. Sall of Buckland, who predeceased her in 1984.
Norma enjoyed motorcycle riding with Freddy and the gang, vacations at the beach, and vacations in New York with family. She loved playing bingo and going to the casino. She enjoyed her family, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma spent her early years as a waitress at the Four Leaf Clover and Sweetheart Tea House. She also worked several years at Kendall Mills in Colrain, and for the past 20 years she enjoyed driving bus for the Mohawk School District and JB Transportation.
Norma is survived by her four children: Frederick (Ricky) and his wife Karen of Buckland, Timothy, with whom she resided with in Buckland with their dog Nikita, Brenda Tatro and her husband John of Ashfield, Jeffrey and his wife Terry of Greenfield; six grandchildren: Paul, Maegan, Alex, Kylee, Travis and Brandon; her loving great- grandchildren; Kianna, Clara, Hanna, Sara, Harlee, Berit, Adyson, Destinee and Kayla; two sisters, Judith Rae Harris and her husband Neil of Tampa, FL, Cynthia Call of Shelburne Falls, nieces and nephews.
Norma was predeceased by three brothers: James, Robert (Butch) and Peter Berthiaume; sisters: Marie Davidson and Edna Irene Berthiaume, and a special friend, Earl (Tink) Warriner.
Special thanks to relatives and friends, Shelburne Falls Ladies Auxiliary, Upton Auto Repair, Gerry's Home Improvement, Carl's 4 Seasons, Baystate Oncology and Hospice of Franklin County.
A funeral service will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls. Burial will follow in Arms Cemetery.
Visiting hours are tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested memorial contributions be sent to either Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Greenfield, MA 01301 (www.fchospice.org) or the , (www.cancer.org).
