SHELBURNE FALLS - John J. Tetreault, 75, of Highland Village, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Charlene Manor Extended Care in Greenfield.

John was born in Colrain, MA, on July 27, 1938, the son of Mary Tetreault. He attended Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls.
He was employed by Lamson and Goodnow Cutlery Manufacturing for many years until he retired in 1994.
John was well-known in the community and could be seen walking to and from work everyday. He had volunteered for many years as a referee for youth basketball games at the Cowell Gym and umpired for Little League baseball games.
Survivors include many cousins and friends.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Shelburne Falls. Committal prayers will follow in Arms Cemetery.
There will be a visiting hour from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. at the Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls, prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested memorial contributions be sent to either St. Joseph's Church, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls or the Shelburne Falls Fire Dept., 121 State St., Shelburne Falls, MA 01370.
