LEVERETT - ""Riddle done died."" Pastor Larry G. Riddle, 72, of Moores Corner Church, stepped into the presence of the Lord Monday (5-19-14) at home, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born in Red Lion, PA, on July 2, 1941, the son of Harry and Margaret (Koons) Riddle. He was a graduate of York High School, Class of 1958.
The Guest Book is expired.
He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1963. On Dec. 12, 1964, Larry married his wife, the former Edith Hoffberg. Larry graduated with honors from Southeastern Bible College in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in Pastoral Theology and from the University of Alabama in 1978 with a master's degree in Counseling.
Pastor Riddle served Moores Corner Church and the surrounding communities for nearly 36 years, including being an in-house minister for the Kostanski Funeral Home. Over the years, he trained many men for the ministry and sent them out to serve. Larry loved God, loved being a Pastor and was there to help anyone in their time of need. He treated everyone with compassion, acceptance and a sense of humor that left a lasting impression. There were three principles Larry lived by and encouraged others to do so: God is sovereign, God's timing is always perfect and I am God's child to do with as He pleases. Pastor Riddle will be loved and dearly missed by everyone whose life was touched by him.
Besides his wife of 49 years, Edith, Larry leaves four children, Steven Riddle (Carol Partlow) of Frederick, MD, Peg Dohm (Marc Reilly) of Reno, NV, Deborah Hansen (Larry) of Leverett and Julie Riddle of Montague; eight grandchildren, Avery and Arron Riddle, Steven and Erin Riddle, Leah, Lauren and Lance Hansen, Samantha Hoffberg; his stepfather, Jay Hoff of York, PA; a brother, Jay Riddle (Barbara), as well as many nieces and nephews.
