GREENFIELD - Teresa ""Terri"" A. (Sherman) O'Connell, 63, of Plain Road died Saturday (8-2-14) at the Buckley HealthCare Center in Greenfield.

She was born in Greenfield on Jan. 8, 1951, the daughter of Adolphus and Valda (Thatcher) Sherman. Terri attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School, Class of 1969. She later continued her education at Greenfield Community College at the same time as her son. Not only receiving her Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts but also proudly graduating in the same class as her son.
Terri was Assistant Treasurer for the Town of Greenfield for many years.
She loved to travel, especially spending her winters in Arizona. She was an avid equestrian and pianist. Also, she was an active and well known member of the Emblem Club in Greenfield serving as President multiple times, as well as performing several other roles throughout the years, including Supreme Organist for the National Assembly of the Emblem Club.
Besides her husband of 43 years, John O'Connell, Terri leaves her son, Corey and his wife Liz; her beloved grandson, Conor O'Connell, all of Greenfield; a brother, Gary Sherman of Gloucester, MA; two sisters, Linda Hunt of Greenfield and Lana Martin of West Chesterfield, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
Terri was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Sherman.
A memorial service will be held Friday afternoon at 4 at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St., Greenfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
