GREENFIELD - Gary R. LaShier, 62, of 214 Silver St., died Sunday (8-24-14) at Brockton Veterans Hospital in Brockton.

He was born in Brattleboro, Vt., on March 5, 1952, the son of Robert and Charlotte (Boroski) LaShier. He attended local schools in Hinsdale, N.H.
Gary served as a Sergeant E4 in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975.
Gary was a bartender for many years. He then went on to become a car salesman from 2000 to 2013, retiring in March due to his failing health.
Gary enjoyed fishing and loved watching the Patriots and Red Sox games. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter.
Besides his wife of 31 years, Sheila (Crowell) LaShier, whom he married on May 28, 1983, Gary leaves two daughters, Sara Jessop and her husband Jon of Ashfield and Susan LaShier and her fiancé Mike Dobias of Turners Falls; a granddaughter, Taylor James Youmell; three nieces and one nephew and several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
At Gary's request there will be no services. A private memorial graveside service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
