GREENFIELD - Chester "Butch" Levisee, 67, of Colrain Road, died Tuesday (10-2-12) at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born on July 8, 1945 in Malvern, Ark., the son of Austin and Christene (Dickinson) Levisee.
Butch was an Aeronautical Electrician serving in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. He was a Vietnam veteran. While in the Navy, he was stationed at Naval bases all over the world and spent time on the aircraft carriers, USS Kitty Hawk and Enterprise. He attained the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. Butch was honorably discharged in 1985.
After retirement, he worked at Systems Software Support in Northfield and retired from there in 2005.
Butch loved woodworking, was an avid golfer and a huge LSU football fan.
He leaves his wife of almost 40 years, Theresa (Tucker) Levisee; a son, Jason Levisee and his wife, Isabel, of Rehoboth, MA, and a daughter, Jennifer Phillips and her husband Geoffrey of Winchester, NH; a brother, Robert; three sisters, Helen, Virginia and Barbara, and three grandchildren, Tucker and Lincoln Levisee and Bennett Phillips.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday (10-8) at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 133 Main St. in Greenfield. Burial, with military honors, will follow in North Meadow Cemetery.
