Joanne (Morse) (Caloon) Brook, 59, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 after a brief bout with cancer, at home.
Born in Lynn, MA on October 2, 1953, and after many adventures, she settled in Greenfield, MA
Joanne graduated from Greenfield Community College's nursing program in 1988. Joanne worked for many years as a nurse at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield and served as President of the Nurse's Union.
Joanne served as president of Toastmasters, and was a practitioner and teacher of Therapeutic Touch. She recently had been working as a nurse for Hospice of Franklin County providing loving, respectful care that every patient deserved.
She was of the Jewish faith, and was the former President of Temple Israel in Greenfield.
Joanne was an accomplished glass blower, making beautiful glass beads and crafting fine jewelry. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle and was an active member of the YMCA. She loved her knitting circle, and neighborhood group.
She is survived by her beloved son Richard Brook and his wife Shawna Pazmino-Brook of Northfield, she also leaves behind her four grandchildren who adored her, Samantha and Robby Brook of Greenfield and Joey and Jacob Brook of Northfield. She is also survived by her mother Rhoda Morse of Swampscott, MA, a sister Michelle Frazier of Beverly, a sister Saralee Hofrichter of Amherst, MA, a brother Joseph Morse of Northampton and their families, as well as many relatives and friends. A sister, Sherry Courage predeceased her.
Joanne's greatest achievement in life was her family, whom she loved and cherished immensely. Joanne had many friends she cared for deeply and was known for her care,
honesty, and a loving heart.
Services will be Wednesday, November 14 at 11:00am at Temple Israel, 27 Pierce St., Greenfield. Burial services will immediately follow in Temple Israel Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Following the cemetery services, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Grange, 401 Chapman St., Greenfield.
The family wishes to thank Joanne's friends and co-workers of Hospice for their comforting care in her final days.
