MONTAGUE - Susan Mae (Boulden) Klaus, 62, of Sunderland Road, died Tuesday morning (1-22-13) at home, after a short period of failing health.

She was born in Greenfield on May 20, 1950, the daughter of George A. and Barbara E. (Rose) Boulden. Susan attended Sunderland Elementary School and graduated from Frontier Regional High School in 1968.
She was married to William B. Klaus Jr. on Sept. 2, 1972 in Sunderland.
Susan worked in the Turners Falls High School cafeteria.
She was a drummer in the Frontier band, a Sunday School teacher for many years, a member of the First Congregational Church in Sunderland, and a coach of her son Al's soccer team.
She is survived by her husband, William Klaus Jr.; two sons: Joseph L. Klaus of Montague and William A. Klaus and his wife Brenda of Winchester, N.H., and grandchildren, Amelia and Jakob; two sisters: Carol Kushi and Diane Zak of Sunderland; a brother, Gilbert Boulden of Montague; her parents, George and Barbara Boulden Jr., and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Susan Klaus Dorman of California and Marcia Klaus of Holyoke, and a brother-in-law, Joseph Klaus of Maine.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday (1-26-13) at the First Congregational Church, Sunderland, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Barbara Seaman and the Rev. Sheryl Willis will officiate.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Sunderland Congregational Church Sunday School, 361 Montague Road, Sunderland, MA 01375.
