BRIDGEWATER, N.H. - George Edward Bache of Bridgewater, passed away at his home on Jan. 31, 2013.
George was born on June 24, 1931 in Hoboken, N.J.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet (Burns) Bache; their four children, Jackie Sherwin of Canaan, NH; Cathy Naehrbass of Bridgewater, NH; Nancy Bache of Gardner, MA and Timothy and his wife Rose of Greenfield, MA.
He was pre-deceased by an infant daughter, Doreen Bache.
George also leaves behind seven truly loved grandchildren: Kerry Sherwin, Alex Sherwin, Jeff Bache, Jennifer Bache, Brittany Wasielewski, Kristopher Wasielewski and Randi Wasielewski, and three beautiful great-grandchildren: Joshua Phillips, Jillian and Jaida Bache.
He is also survived by his sister, Mary Urso, and his brother, Edward Bache.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard, and his sisters, Marge, Helen and Betty.
George joined the Navy at an early age in 1948 and served during the Korean War with an Honorable Discharge in 1952. After moving to Greenfield in 1953 to marry Janet, he went to work for A.R Sandri for the next seven years. In 1959, he became a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service where he worked until 1972, when he started Bache Oil Burner Service. In 1984, he started working at FCAC (Franklin Community Action Corp) where he worked until his retirement in 1996.
George was an accomplished, self-taught craftsman and electrician. He built their home on Barton Road in Greenfield, MA, where he lived until his retirement.
After George and Janet both retired they split their time between Glendale, AZ, and Bridgewater, NH, where they shared a home on Newfound Lake, a place where George had longed dreamt of living.
George loved the water, sailing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He kept his family and acquaintances smiling with his stories and wonderful sense of humor.

Memorial services will be held in the spring at the family's convenience.
