HADLEY - Delores "Dee" J. (Peters) Tobacco, 53, passed away Sunday (3-3-13) at the Elaine Center at Hadley, following a long illness.

She was born in Montague on Feb. 29, 1960. She attended local schools in Greenfield.
Dee served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1981 to 1983, taking both her basic training and schooling at Fort Jackson in North Carolina. She later attended GCC in the LPN Nursing Program. Upon graduation, she worked in many nursing facilities in the area. Later, she moved to the Worcester area where she lived until the time of her illness.
Among her survivors, Dee leaves her mother, Nancy Peters of Turners Falls; two sisters, Teresa Underwood and her husband Garry of Erving and Tina Wells and her husband Michael of Turners Falls; two brothers, Clayton Peters Jr. of Hartford, VT, and Clifford Peters and his fiancé Debbie of Hadley, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves a husband, Michael Tobacco, from whom she had been separated for a number of years.
Her father, Clayton Peters Sr., predeceased her in 1983.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
Dee's family would like to thank the caring staff at the Elaine Center at Hadley for their professionalism and compassion shown to Dee during her time there.
