TURNERS FALLS - Sharon A. (McCarthy) Harrington, 62, of Montague Street died Sunday (4-21-13) at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born in Montague on May 16, 1950 the daughter of Harold and Evelyn (Powers) McCarthy. She attended local schools and was a Turners Falls High School graduate, Class of 1968.
Sharon was a receptionist at Valley Medical Group in Greenfield. She loved her job and the people she worked with.
Her passion was loving and supporting her family. She enjoyed hosting friends and family dinners and drinks. Recently she completed her dream vacation to Disney World with all her children and grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Alan Parda; stepdaughter, Jill Hanzalik, and grandson, Chase Hanzalik.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Philip Harrington; two daughters, Angela Whelan and her husband Ted and Leigh Ann Parda and her fiancé Paul Thayer; two stepsons, Adam Harrington and his wife Kearstin and Kevin Harrington and his wife Kelly; a sister, Sandy Guilbault; a niece, Dawn Bete and her husband Matt. She also leaves her grandchildren, Tayrn Thayer, Brooke and Kayleigh Whelan, Jayden and Jaxon Harrington and Addison and Charley Harrington.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 6 at the Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling hours are today from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
