CHICOPEE - Mary A. "Mae" (Ethier) Ciesla, 95, a native and lifelong resident of Chicopee, passed away in the comfort of her own home on Wednesday morning with her daughter at her side.
Born on May 17, 1918, Mae was the daughter of the late Albert and Agnes (O'Brien) Ethier.
She was a devout Catholic and was often seen attending daily mass. Her husband, Frank Ciesla, passed away on April 17, 1978. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Karen Quill in 2011 and her sister, Alberta Ethier in 1938.
Mae is survived by a son, Jack Ciesla and his wife Patricia of South Deerfield, a daughter, Alberta Quill and her husband John of Westfield, 3 grandchildren, Cathryn M. Quill, John T. Ciesla and Tammy M. Ciesla as well as her nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 beginning at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee at 8:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass in the Chapel at the College of Our Lady of the Elms, 291 Springfield St., Chicopee at 10.
Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the procession to the College Chapel. Contributions in Mae's memory may be directed to the .
