Edward Ray "Lalo" Alcantar(1995 - 2010)

March 31, 1995 an angel came into our lives, 15 years later, he was called home to heaven.

Our beloved Edward Ray Alcantar, "Lalo", left this world on Friday, September 10, 2010. He was surrounded by the people he loved the most.

Lalo is survived by his parents Lydia "Cathy" and Hector Alcantar, beloved brother Carlos J. Alcantar, nephew Carlos Caden Alcantar, his second mother Maria "Mickie" Garza, maternal grandmother Maria Idalia Garza, paternal grandparents Ramona and Aurelio Alcantar all of Porterville. He also leaves heavy hearts to dozens of aunts and uncles, hundreds of cousins, and dozens of nieces and nephews and lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Jesus M. Garza and his uncle Ramiro Alcantar.

Lalo was a very young man, but very wise beyond his years. He attended West Putnam Elementary, Sequoia Middle School and Porterville High School. He was a member of the Porterville Futbol Club, Harmony Academy Advanced Orchestra, and a past member of the Porterville Mariachi Academy. He had been playing the violin since the 4th grade. He became a very accomplished violin player. He loved spending time with his cousins, friends and a soccer ball.

Lalo's life may seem too short by many, but those who were touched by him, understand that the quality of existence far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him. He was always the first person to call for help, because he was always more than glad to give it. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Lalo, you will be in our hearts forever. Love you.
