Gene "Roly" McDarment, age 57 and a member of the Tule River Indian Tribe passed away surrounded by friends and family May 7, 2013 in Tulare. Roly was born February 23, 1956 to Earl and Bernice McDarment at Burbank, CA where he was raised and educated until the age of 12 when he moved permanently to the Tule River Indian Reservation.
Roly was employed as a firefighter
with the Horse Shoe Meadow Fire Crew but enjoyed woodworking, carving, drawing, or being outside playing golf and working in his yard but especially cooking his beans and lovingly making his Menudo. He was always saying funny things or making up names for people and enjoyed meeting new friends.
He liked to sing as he played his guitar and his favorite song was "There's drunks in my house". He was devoted to his wife Bethany, his children, grandchildren, extended family and was a respected Tule River Tribal Elder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bernice McDarment along with his brother Bruce and sister Rita.
Surviving family includes his loving wife Bethany. 4 sons: Edwin Moreno, Bryce McDarment, K.C. Tibbs McDarment and Casey Dye. 3 daughters: Monyka, Angela McDarment and Bridget Linares. 2 brothers: Todd and Loren McDarment Sr. 2 sisters: Gayline Hunter and Veronica McDarment and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the Tule River Indian Reservation Mater Dolorosa Catholic Mission, Saturday May 11, 2013 at 1:00pm and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00pm. Cremation will follow with inurnment at the Upper Reservation Cemetery.
