Alexis "Alex" Tovar age 25 was a resident of the Tule River Reservation and passed away April 26, 2012 in Porterville, CA. He was born September 13, 1986 in Porterville to Krista Byars and Aurelio Tovar Sr. and was a member of the Tule River Tribe. Alex attended Monache High School, played baseball for the Tule River Baseball team, rooted for the Chicago Bulls Basketball team, was a diehard Miami Football fan and enjoyed a good game of horseshoes with his friends. He liked to camp and hunt or fish in the mountains, enjoyed playing games on his Xbox and he especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He liked to make people laugh and he always had a smile on his face. Alex participated with the Tule River Indian Dancers and the joy and laughter he brought to others will be missed. His daughters were his world. Surviving family includes his parents: Krista Byars and Felix Carrasco of Tule River and Aurelio Tovar Sr. of Porterville. Grandfathers Lawrence Byars of Terra Bella and Juan Tovar Sr. of Delano. His spouse Danella Guillermo and daughters Ruth and Alicia Tovar all of Tule River. 2 brothers: Felix Carrasco III of Tule River and Aurelio Tovar Jr. of La Brea. 3 sisters: Tiffany Byars and Adela Carrasco of Tule River and Amy Tovar of Las Vegas, NV. Visitation will be 5:00 pmThursday May 3, 2012 at the Mater Dolorosa Mission with rosary to follow at 6:00pm. Mass will be 10:00am Friday May 4, 2012 at the Mater Dolorosa Mission at the Tule River Indian Reservation.
