Aurora "Nona" Theresa Rafanan was born September 23, 1925 in Honolulu, Hawaii and passed away December 6, 2011 in Porterville, California.

She was the daughter of Goegori and Theresa Zagala and had 15 brothers and sisters.
A Service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 AM at Myers Chapel. Interment will be private.
Nona graduated from high school in 1942 in Los Angeles, California.
On December 27, 1943 Nona married the love of her life, Juan (Johnny) Rafanan. They were married for 63 years. After their wedding they moved to Porterville where they raised their 8 children.
Nona was a farm worker for 20 years along side her husband. She enjoyed bowling and bingo and was an avid fan of wrestling and Days of Our Lives on television. Other interests were watching football, crocheting, and cooking for family and friends.
One of her favorite things was attending sporting events of her children, grandchildren and great grand children and was known for being the "loudest" person cheering them on.
Nona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Juan, 6 brothers, 1 sister, a daughter Marlene, granddaughter, Sydney Rafanan and great granddaughter, Danee Covian.
She is survived by her 5 sons, John Rafanan of Arizona, Ken Rafanan of Bakersfield, Tony (Kim) Rafanan of Reno, NV, Lenny (Janice) Rafanan of Canada, Ted (Samantha) Rafanan of Porterville; 2 daughters, Carol (Roland) Fong of Sacramento, Roz (Bob) Phipps of Porterville; 22 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 3 brothers; 5 sisters.
Nona will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
