Jack Price a resident of Pierpoint, CA passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the age of 71. Jack was born in Wynewood, OK on December 22, 1939 to Jack Price and his wife Lida Bell. Jack was raised in Porterville, CA. He retired from his position as a psychiatric technician after 34 years of service from Porterville Developmental Center. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, packing into the backcountry, archery, traveling, dancing the waltz and the two-step and most of all spending time with his family. Jack and Joan founded Camp Nelson Ambulance in 1982. Jack was a volunteer firefighter for the Camp Nelson Fire Department. He was a member of the Back Country Horseman's Association. Jack also was involved at Rocky Hill Speedway as chief mechanic of stock car #29 and drove stock car #14. Upon retirement, Jack and Joan were camp hosts for Sequoia Recreation.

Jack married the love of his life, Joan Price in 1961. They renewed their wedding vows in 2011 after 50 years of marriage. Jack is survived by his wife Joan, son Jack Jay, daughter in law Stacy Price of Pierpoint Springs, a daughter Sandra Price of Florida; his brother Bill Price, two sisters; Donna Spears and Vivian Hardy of Porterville. Four grandchildren, Michael Baxter, Shannon Baxter, Stephanie Price, Jared Price and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Lida Bell and one sister and one sister, Barbara Myer.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 12:00 pm at Pierpoint Springs amphitheatre, Highway 190. Pastor Gerald Myer will officiate.
