Wilma Ileene Collier Barlett, age 82, a long time resident of Porterville, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014. Wilma was born on March 19, 1932 in Porterville, CA to Willis and Emily Collier. She graduated from Porterville High School and then met and married Lawrence Robert "Bob" Bartlett. Together they had two sons, Robert "Bob" and Douglas Bartlett. Wilma faithfully served the Lord, her family, and the community.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homeworker, she touched many lives as one of the first teacher's aide in the Porterville Unified School District. She was also an active member of the Porterville Church of the Nazarene for over fifty years. After retiring from the school district she volunteered as a pink lady at Sierra View District Hospital for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Gail Bartlett, and Douglas and Joyce Bartlett both of Porterville. Her grandchildren: Wendi Bartlett-Sanchez of Porterville, Brook and her husband, Richard Tree of Springville, Kristin and Tiffany Bartlett of Porterville. She also has 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Myers Chapel in Porterville from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The service will also be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Eva Felix and those who cared for Wilma at Bella Home in Porterville. They would also like to thank all of those at Optimal Hospice Care for their excellent care and support.
Wilma will be remembered as an outstanding Christ-like example to all, because of her kindness, generosity, gentleness and pure sweet love.
