Martin Joseph Medrano "Marty", passed away peacefully at his home on the Tule River Indian Reservation, on Thursday, March 30, 2017, surrounded by his family and friends. He was 58.
Marty was born on October 3, 1958 in Porterville, CA to Tony Medrano and Mildred Medrano (Jaconetti). He graduated from Porterville High School in 1976, where he was elected into the book of All-American's for high school football and for many years held the record for most touchdowns in a game. He married Donna Medrano (Gonzales) and together had 3 children, Domingo Medrano, Valerie Medrano and Olivia Medrano.
Marty enjoyed playing men's fast pitch as centerfield for CVC, "Never say Die". He also loved to fish, topping off a tremendous career with his prize 25lb cat fish.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, children, father (Tony), sisters (Kathy and Christina) and 8 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Medrano; brother, James "Jimmy" Medrano and grandson, Savior Cortez Medrano.
A viewing will be held at Myers Chapel on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be held Myers Chapel on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne's Church on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Tule River Indian Reservation, Upper Cemetery.
