Weade, Claire McDonald  
Claire McDonald Weade, 89, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 7:05 a.m. at Court House Manor where she had been residing since October 23, 2014. Claire was born July 8, 1925, in Fayette County, Ohio to Aloysius Bernard and Ruth Hagler McDonald. She was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School and received a bachelor's degree in bookkeeping from Mount Saint Joseph College in Cincinnati. She was a lifelong resident of this community. She formerly was a bookkeeper at Producers Stockyards and Union Stockyards and had been a truck driver for McDonald & Son Elevator. She also was a longtime clerk for Weade Realtors & Auctioneers. Claire was a member of the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church; had been a member and past president of Phi Beta Psi Sorority and the Washington Lioness Club. She served on the original board of directors of Fayette Progressive School and Industries and had also served on the board of directors of the Fayette County Historical Society. She was a member of the Cincinnati Herb Society; the Child Conservation League and had been a Cub Scout mother. She was a member of her beloved Bridge Club for over sixty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Weade in 1999; a daughter, Elaine "Lainie" Weade in 2006, and a brother, Howard McDonald in 2011. Claire is survived by three children, Ginger Weade of Athens, Ohio; Ronald J. Weade and his wife, Debbie, of Washington Court House and David A. Weade and his wife, Jane Ann, of Sunbury ; four grandsons, Mark (Rachel) Weade, Jess (Shena) Weade, Matt (Megan) Weade and Branen (Laura) Weade; three great grandsons, Carter, Aiden and Keaton Weade with another great grandchild on the way; three sisters, Frances Allen of Houma, LA, Mary Meadows of Paoli, IN and Ann Rask and her husband, Richard, of Breckinridge, CO and several nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Jan C. Sullivan, former pastor at the church. Burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Fayette County. Friends may call at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. where a prayer service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church, 219 South North Street or Hospice of Fayette County, Inc., 222 North Oakland Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
