ALICE EILENE AHYSEN — A memorial service for Alice Eilene Ahysen, 88, of Washington Court House was held Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mother Gayle Hansen Browne, vicar at the church, serving as the celebrant. Phillip Weller was the organist and David Penwell was the pianist. John Link was the Eucharistic minister and he and Sharon Mavis were the lectors. Tim Rinehart was the acolyte; Sue Timmons and Liz Rea were ushers; Thomas Trimmer was the sound engineer and Mary Link coordinated the alter guild. The recessional, "Amazing Grace", was played on the bagpipes by Geoff Mavis.
Following the service, a time of food and fellowship was held in Story Fellowship Hall at the church with Christy Trimmer and Shirley Morrow serving as coordinators.
Alice, a geographer, author and musician and widow of Harry J. Ahysen, died Wednesday, March 11, 2014, at her home. She had been in failing health.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House.
