B. Madeline Denen Ebert, 81, of Washington Court House, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 9:05 a.m. She had been in failing health.
Madeline was born December 1, 1932, in Fayette County, Ohio to Denver and Pernie Lee Clark Denen. She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School and lived most of her life in the Washington Court House and New Holland communities.
She was a longtime employee of the First National Bank in Washington Court House and later retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ohio. She and her husband, Pete, farmed for many years on the family farm near New Holland.
She was a member of the New Holland United Methodist Church and regularly attended the First Presbyterian Church in Washington Court House. She was a charter member and a past president of Altrusa International of Washington Court House and had been a member of the Washington Court House Business and Professional Women's Club. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards.
On October 11, 1958, she married Russell S. (Pete) Ebert, Jr. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2011. She was also preceded by her parents; a brother, Henry M. Denen; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Denen; sister-in-law and brother-in-Law, Elizabeth (Sis) and Richard Kirkpatrick and brother-in-law, Dr. Ray Eugene Ebert.
She is survived by nephews and nieces, Regina Denen Zollinger and Bruce (Gayle) Denen of Washington Court House, Denise Denen of Grove City, Robert (Angie) Denen of Youngstown, William R. Kirkpatrick and Roger (Diana) Kirkpatrick of Washington Court House, Jan (Doug) Snyder of Meadow Lands, PA, Rob and Dick Ebert of Columbus numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Lilian Ebert of Columbus.
A memorial service will be Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Washington Court House with the Rev. Everett L. Miller, pastor at the church, officiating.
