Harris Pursell, 83, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 11:55 a.m. at his home following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Pursell was born June 8, 1930, in Washington Court House, Ohio to James Hurst and Verna Backenstoe Pursell. He was a lifelong resident of this community.
He was a truck driver for different companies before retiring from the transport department of Pennington Bread.
Mr. Pursell attended the New Holland United Methodist Church and was an Army
veteran of the Korean Conflict
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Purcell and a sister, Jean Hoppes.
Mr. Pursell is survived by his wife, Ivanelle Sollars Pursell whom he married August 15, 1953; a daughter, Teresa Pursell of Columbus; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Rhonda Pursell of Washington Court House; three grandchildren, Troy, Trevor and Anita Pursell; special family friend, Deb Nelson of Columbus; a sister, Marjorie Batson of Washington Court House and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House with Tony Tompkins of the Hardins Creek Friends Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
