Mona Louise Mershon, 91, of Washington Court House, Ohio died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at her home.
She was born June 29, 1922, in Greenfield, Ohio to Leslie and Mary Hockenburger Post. She was a graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield and attended Columbus Business School.
Mona formerly was an administrative assistant at the Hartman Theater in Columbus and, for many years, was office manager for her husband at Fayette Auto Parts.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church; was a charter member and past president of Altrusa International of Washington Court House and was a member and regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mona was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine Pollard, Vivian Scott and Wynona Wickensimer and a son-in-law, Larry Lehman.
She is survived by her husband, Gail W. Mershon whom she married October 17, 1942; a daughter, Karen Lehman of Canal Winchester; a son, Barry Mershon of Maxton, NC; two grandchildren, Laura Lehman of Columbus and Scott Lehman of Fort Myers, FL and a great grandson, Leo Jenkins of Columbus.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Washington C.H. with Mell Wickensimer, director of visitation at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Washington Cemetery.
